Numerical Analysis of Flow and Heat Transfer Enhancement in A Horizontal Pipe with Plain and Dimple Twisted Tape

In order to improve thermo-hydraulic performance of laminar flow various techniques has been used among which a plain tube with twisted tape insert is widely used. The main objective numerically study field in enhance heat transfer, through circular pipe built with/without Dimples on strip. Effect and dimple strip thermo hydraulic discussed. analysis results for range 800<Re<2000 obtained twist ratio the 3.0. Analysis carried full length constant flux. simulation Nusselt number versus Reynolds plain, Dimple experimental data give variation 2.5, 5.75 9.5%. friction factor 6 13 times that tube. thermal 4 15% 3 12 % respectively higher than Due increase induced dimples there an intensification transfer duct pipe. use compounded feasible terms energy saving at lower numbers. Present applicable design compact exchanger optimize consumption.
